Adding, Viewing, Inserting, Modifying, Deleting, or Undeleting a Line in an Estimate

To add a new line to an estimate, display the database or the parts code table on the bottom half of your screen, and select the appropriate part. To modify a line, highlight and change the fields there directly, or display the Properties sheet, and change the information there. To delete an automated line, highlight the line, select Edit > Delete Estimate Line. If a database line is deleted, it and any automated lines associated with it are also deleted.

Once you have modified a line, all estimate totals are updated. If you modify an automated line, that line will be underlined and marked with an asterisk on the printed estimate. Make sure you save your changes.

To add a new line to an estimate

  1. Open or create a workfile.
  2. Select the Estimate tab, and then select the Lines tab. The estimate lines display.
  3. Enter information directly in the last line in the Damage Line section.

To add a line, using the database or the parts code table

  1. Select the MOTOR tab.
  2. Select a group, a subgroup, and a part from the database panel.
  3. With your part highlighted, select the Replace, Repair, Compare, or Operations option.
  4. Depending on your selection, a Properties sheet or dialog box may appear. Enter information as needed.
  5. Select the Add to Estimate button.

To add a line manually

  1. Select the line entry at the bottom of the estimate lines.
  2. Select an operation from the Operations column droplist of the line item.
  3. Enter the other information.

To insert a blank line

  1. Position your cursor where you want to insert blank line.
  2. Right-click, and select Insert Line.

To delete a line

  1. Highlight a single field on the line you want to delete.
  2. Right-click the line, and select Delete Line.

To undelete an automated line

  1. Highlight the line marked for deletion.
  2. Right-click the line, and then select Undelete. (This is available for automated lines only.)

To modify a line

  1. Highlight the field you want to modify.
  2. Enter the information directly into the appropriate fields.

    Right-click the line, and then select Line Properties from the pop up menu. The Estimate Line Properties screen opens.
  3. Edit the line information, and then click OK.

Note: Altering an automated line may affect your totals, so be sure to check your totals to make sure they are reasonable and accurate. If you find that you disagree with the totals that result from your altering an automated line, delete the line you altered and reinsert it. The program will use the automated figures.
